We worked with the Ravalli County planning department to develop a GIS-based development suitability model.  The inputs included a multitude of ecological and biophysical data combined in such a way as to highlight areas most and least appropriate for land development.  The model was created with assistance from a variety of local stakeholder groups in an effort to achieve broad agreement, and it was designed to be flexible as the priorities of the citizenry change over time.
